| On the north coast of Menorca, close to Son Parc lies Menorca's only Golf Course. This is the perfect beach for everyone with something for all close at hand. The beach has As well as offering sun beds and parasols for hire you will find resident lifeguards on hand. Other watersport facilities for hire include canoes and pedalos. Not that long ago it started life as a nine hole complex, but in August 2006 the all new 18 hole course was opened to the public. The course is a unique combination of beauty and a sporting challenge.} It also benefits from its being just a few hundred metres from the picturesque Son Parc beach resort. Highlights of The Course The first hole at Son Parc, measures 440m, and is a relatively short par 5. With a stoke index of 11 it offers a gentle start to your round, but beware, do not underestimate this course! The main threats as you begin comes from two fairway bunkers and the elevated green that will cause problems for golfers whose approach shot lands short. All is not exactly plain sailing from the first hole but the next major challenge rears its head at the fifth. Regarded as the most difficult of holes most difficult hole it measures 452m and is a par 5. The approach is difficult and the green is tight and undulating. The last hole at first sight appears to provide a gentle finale for your round. However the stroke index of 12 is a little decieving. The 147m par 3 should not overstretch all those who stay clear of the trees which guard the front of the green. The other attraction, or rather distraction comes in the form of the resident peacock population. Based close to the green at the third hole they do not seem to be at all offput by the presence of humans. Whatever yourfeelings about their presence one has to admit they do add a touch of colourto a round of golf! If holiday bliss includes a round of golf then Menorca could be the answer?
