| Diabetes is diagnosed by two type of tests namely blood and Urine test. In urine test there are samples of glucose. Blood test is generally done in three ways. The three mentioned types of blood test are Fasting blood glucose test or FPGT - diagnosed if blood sugar level is over 123mg/dL Oral glucose tolerance test- diagnosed if blood glucose level is above 200mg/dL Random plasma glucose test- diagnosed if blood glucose level is above 200mg/dL If an individual has symptoms of diabetes and is diagnosed with diabetes, he has queries like what are the food items he need to take and what are the food items he needs to avoid. This query is very important as concerned with diabetes, as diabetes is related to metabolism. The food we eat is converted to energy, this energy is very much related to diabetes The foods that are diabetic person needs to avoid are simple carbohydrates which are easily converted to glucose in the body. In place of it he needs to take content which are rich in complex carbohydrates, which remains in the body and converts slowly to glucose. He/ she needs to avoid vegetables rich in starch. The foods which are more suitable for diabetic persons should be rich in fiber content. Examples of fruits and vegetables which are rich in fiber content are Broccoli, pumpkin, peas, beans, spinach, apples, bananas and dry fruits like apricots, dates and raisins. Diabetic symptoms? The symptoms of diabetes are increased thirst, increase in appetite, increase urination, numbness in feet and hands, blurry vision. Diabetes is defined as condition when there is high amounts of blood glucose level. This high level of sugar content is harmful to the human body. This condition is known as glucose toxicity. The cause of diabetes is due to stop in production of insulin or the insulin produced is not enough for the body or the cells do not react to insulin produced. What Causes Diabetes and its types. Diabetes is classified into two types mainly. Type 1 and type 2. Type 1 is also known as Juvenile diabetes, it is due to auto immune system of the human body which destroys the beta cells of the pancreas which are responsible for secretion of insulin. This type of diabetes is seen more among young adults and teenagers. Type 2 diabetes or adult onset diabetes is due to cells not reacting with the insulin or the insulin produced is not enough. Though the both the types of diabetes have different causes, the main causes of both the types of diabetes are age, lack of exercise and obesity. |
