| England can be glorious in the summer time, the sun (mostly) comes out and people's minds turn to festivities and frolic, tents and stages spring up all over that sceptered isle and music rocks and rolls it way out of a myriad of speakers and into the waiting ears of festival goers. One of the most famous festivals catering to the rock end of the spectrum is Reading, a three day event that lasts from Friday through to Sunday. Should you be tempted to go to Reading or any other festival in the so-called British summer time it is a good idea to take a tent, but an even better idea is to arrive in style in a motorhome. Warm, dry bed, warm, wet showers, it's a bit bourgeoisie, but comfort has its advantages - you think the stars sleep in a tent? Those wishing to attend in style must usually apply for a pass, as there are a lot of rules and regulations regarding the wheres and why fors of having such a vehicle and they are rigidly enforced and supervised, so it is worth doing it by the book. There's not many places that offer three full nights of rock and three full days of rock, coupled with a lifetime of memories, but the Reading Festival is one of them. Performing over five full time stages the world famous likes of Guns n' Roses, Dizzee Rascal and Limp Bizkit have headlined in front of thousands, yet smaller groups vying for attention such as The Big Pink, Kids in Glass Houses and Wild Beast can be found on smaller stages, with various talent, including DJ sets to be found at the outer limits, all in all at least 50 acts over three days. For those who do decide to take a motorhome to any festival please heed my advice there are some rules that are strictly enforced, the most relevant being: no gas canisters, reasonable sized campfires, no animals - with the usual exception of registered guide dogs. It is also a good idea to get booked as soon as possible, campsites generally start allowing people in a few days before the offical kick-off, but only pre-booked Early Birds and weekend ticket holders.
