A great event happened in Shanghai in 2007. There were Shanghai Special Olympic World Summer Games in 2007 for multitudes who bear mental illnesses.

Special olympics sportsmen of 6 categories competed in 25 different sports: aquatics, athletics, badminton, basketball, bocci, bowling, cricket, cycling, dragon boat racing, team handball, tennis, volleyball, horseman, football (soccer), golf, gymnastics, judo, kayaking, lion dance, power-lifting, roller skating, sailing, softball, ping-pong, motor activities.
